That will have gone through at least 2 passes of aa()/maa()/daa()/nnediaa()/aaa(), (or 1 pass of downsampled aa), to get rid of the horrible aliasing[/url] (unless it's still there?). And after that, I fail to see how anything could be "crystal". Sure they can sPa/\/\ lots of sharpen afterwards, but that just makes it look "artificial".
uguu~ is 720p.
I don't think the BD looks that bad - from your screenshot, it looks like it's filtered, but there's a definite improvement over the TV rips I've got.
Trying downscaling, it does seem that it really isn't 720p worth of quality, but meh.
Anyway, if uguu~ is doing Air, I bet nihaha~ is doing Kanon.

You mean the comparison screenshot in your quote? If I remember correctly, that was something like... 1080p.spline36resize(1024,576).aa().spline36resize(1280,720).... which if I were actually encode this stuff, I would just leave at 576p.
Oh, do you mean those [Koi] TV rips I got? That's not a very fair comparison though, those are old as hell AVIs produced in the age when people spammed denoise to save space....
I wonder, is there an easy way to extract screenshots out of the video on the server?
Because downloading a 800MB 1080p file just to see the quality is really really a big waste of bandwidth. The best method I can think of currently is to use mkvmerge's --split command to split off a small section to download.

any batches out there?
Index? Just go to the Eclipse website and leach Index off their bots.
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
the problem is solved people, no need to continue this encoding stuffs,
Sorry Heartless, but I'm reviving dead thread for discussionz.
Meh, I was revived after all...

But there's no 576p's out there.
And the point of it being better still stands.

The server has to download it to, and yes, 800MB of download is a big waste of bandwidth for it.
Easy way = download like ~5MB of video yourself and pause it and watch it.
Oh, and, interestingly enough, uguu has two audio tracks, a 5.1 AC3 + 2.0 AAC. I don't know why they include the latter - it sounds like it was encoded with FAAC or similar, cause at 112kbps it sounds like absolute poo poo.
Muxed some DVD English audio tracks into the BD rips. Seems there's a lot of inconsistencies with the delays between the two...

Still not worth the download imo. I'd rather download some 480p dual audio DVDrips or something. Being DVDrips, they should be better than the Koi TV set, and not take like 450-500MB per episode (which is how much the Uguu 720p is about).
But then again, it takes you far less effort to download stuff compared to me...

Problem is, can't force the torrent client to download in order. Yes, you did tell me about prioritizing the very first chunk, but that more often than not does not contain enough video to make a judgment on.

Probably not FAAC then. Probably the
FFMpeg AAC encoder or something. FAAC @ 112kbps doesn't sound all that horrible If I recall correctly.

DVD is rarely exactly 480p anyway. At least, most of the ones I've seen.
E-D DVD rips are like 300-400MB, not much smaller.

Then don't use torrent. You can probably find a copy of it on share sites somewhere.

E-D is "special" (the bad way). Most of the time, it's around 200-250. E-D sucks anyway, if I remember correctly, choose another dual audio group.

Actually, IRC would be very very good for that. While you can't find a lot of stuff on DDL sites, IRC has pretty much everything.
I'll do that from now on.
In the
fake chart I totally didn't notice the one top right. I LOL'D.
