I hope a droid version comes out
Glass in front of a moveable glass section, is zoom. But the digital clarity of the camera's phone along with the lens would make image's more detailed and focused. Glass and glass plus more glass makes a telescope. To use the iPhone's built in camera with an advanced compact lens... blah blah blah. whatever. It's a great ideal.

That ain't true bud.
Like I said above, to get the quality you want with using the lens of an SLR you'll need to remove the lens of the iPhone. Also it's not true that the more glass the more it will zoom in, an Ultra wide angle lens has more glass than my 50mm.

The image quality will not increase just because of the fact the stock lens on the iPhone is still there beneath the more expensive glass. picture looking through binoculars but between you and the binoculars is a foggy piece of glass.

Did this with a normal camera.. Just put the lense to a mounted binocular set and then *click*!

Worked, but as Schmilk said, you need a steady source.
