bbtgp has released his new ipl installer for firmware 6.30. Yay

What this lets you do is :

+ you can boot up firmware 6.30 using a pandora battery which means you don't have to use two different batteries to have OFW and CFW.

((Warning This is only for psp 2000 (psp 1000 |psp 2000 v3 |psp 3000/go|) will brick 100%))

How to install : put 630 custom ipl installer folder in your psp game folder and download 630.PBP and put that in the custom ipl installer too.... Then...

+ First you must make DC8 using psp tool app.
+ set battery to pandora mode.
+ Make sure DC8 works.
+ Install 6.30 OFW in your flash using sony updater.
+ Now you use Test m33 mode on DC8.
+ And then you run the custom ipl installer.
+ You are finished then.

Now you can use Test m33 for your custom firmware needs. And the OFW sony 6.30, which means you can use things like SensMe.... and the improved playstation store....

Note : When sony release 6.40,,,,, Don't install it using the 6.30 OFW from your nand and use test m33 to install 6.40,,, Because it will fudge up your psp.

Heres what bbtgp has said now....

"Let me try to explain what this is..

This is for people that have an official firmware installed on there nand for using psn and playing official non pirated games, and a custom firmware installed on there memory stick for homebrew.

Back when the slim first came out, sony made a special protection in the psp's bios or ipl, that when recovery mode was detected, initiated by a pandora battery, the psp would refuse to boot. People would need 2 batterys now, 1 for normal boot and a pandora battery for running magic memory stick apps like dc8. Dark Alex fixed this by adding a patch to the ipl in his original m33's that would allow OFW to be booted using a pandora battery. I recreated this for the newer firmwares.

I did not intend for this to go public, or i would of written proper instructions and explained what it actually did. I re-created the patch for 6.20 for someone that was using an ofw on there nand and a cfw on a memory stick. He was having to use a toggle switch on his battery to go from pandora mode to normal mode and i wrote it to make it easier for him.

phat psp's do not suffer this protection and are able to use a pandora battery to boot ofw with out a custom ipl."
wow,thanks luv it
good thing i have a 2000 lol Madwin
Thanks for taking your time creating this, but I get the same result just intalling OFW 6.30 nad when I want to use CFW just boot in DC8 Mode and press Test M33. The Custom IPL is not necessary. and By the way I think that sharing a IPL of your PSP is illegal.
So it won't work with 1000 PSP's why? Hmmm...

Because the installer author's PSP is a PSP2k, and the IPL from his PSP it's not compatible with PSP1K or any other than PSP2k.

Wrong. When you try booting into DC8 with a Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery on an original Sony firmware, without the custom IPL the PSP will shut down immediately unless you power it by an AC adapter.

I asked about this on LAN.ST when I had this problem with my [now gone] 2000 so bbgtp helped me and released a custom IPL for 6.20.

By the way, are you Sony? You're really trying to come off righteous like you haven't done anything illegal at all Dotdotdot

EDIT: There's nothing illegal in this app otherwise you wouldn't need the 6.30 firmware PBP to install.
I have DC8 and CFW 5.50GEN-D3 and dual boot pandora battery made by myself...that's why I said that worked to me.

I installed OFW 6.30....tested it a little and then w Recovery Flasher 1.60 w module 5.50GEN-d3....installed CFW 5.50GEN-d3 directly without have to use DC8 to install 5.00M33 and then 5.50gen-a, gen-b....etc..

The Illegal thing that I commented is that if a file coming from an already installed firmware in a PSP couldn't be share. (Is like a nandump or flash0 backup....you can share  a packed EBOOT UPDATE withoout modification and CFW patcher but the files already patched is not legal.
Nobody needs to fight, just wondering why it does not work on the 1000 PSP and I got my answer. So thanks...
Dammit, my mom has my 2000. :\
