The thing sucks.

Hello everyone! It's been so long since my last post, so I'm coming to you know with a reinitialization of my rather long, annoying and mostly boring posts.

So, to start with a little blurb about how I've been doing, i graduated highschool fully only a week ago and am now entering university to go into med school and hopefully begin my career as a doctor. Of course, such a path is filled with academics and heartaches, but with a brazen attitude i am sure i can overcome such challenges. This leads me to the conclusion that i really wanted something that i could take with me to university, jot down notes with, browse the internet, read books, and other things. Of course, from one of my previous posts i was considering the apple IPAD; but using this thing only gave me the conclusion, you can't do jack spoon with it.

So, out of luck and hope i tucked away my dreams for a mobile companion that could play all my anime/shows, books, notes, and internet without all the headaches of having to run to my macbook/computer syncing until one day i saw a deal at one of my local electronic stores. That was, the t-91MT, i was quite skeptical about it being a netbook with a 1.33Ghrz processor and 1GB of ram, but, since it was 370$, it seemed quite a deal.

Of course i was worried that this thing would be way too clunky for my tastes, so here's some specs:

1.33ghrz atom z530(something like that)
1GB RAM
GMA 500
5~7 Hour battery life
Windows 7 Home premium
32GB SSD

Because actually reviewing the laptop would be another thread for another day, i just wanted to highlight what i can do with this thing and what you can do with the ipad. Just to note, the netbook is only 1/3 more heavier than the ipad is, so browsing the internet with one hand is very feasible :D. Also, this list includes everything i can do WITHOUT having a computer to help out.

The tablet netbook i can:

-Watch HD videos (I tried 1080p and it worked very well, but i guess it was an anime so i may have to use something else for the bench mark)
-Download Files
-Read ebooks
-Write up notes in onenote
-Write up documents in word
-Do whatever i want to do and choose from a HUGE amount of software available for the windows platform.

The ipad:

-View the internet
-Play Plants Vs zombies

I have to say, when you see the alternatives out there in life, the ipad is really a sucker. The only downfalls of this netbook is that it's screen isn't the most awesome piece of tech, with bad visibility in sunlight and bad viewing planes. All in all, when i see what i can do with this netbook compared to the ipad; all the frustrating headaches and trying to get the ipad to AT LEAST help out with your daily life is something i would not want to deal with.

Yeah, I'm hypocritical to say this, but the ipad sucks; find something like i did.

P.S. I have since upgraded it's ram to 2GB, it's really damn snappy now <3 <3

The only good use of the iPad is if you want to how someone your photography portfolio.  That just can't be replicated on a laptop.

Glad to hear you got a netbook :)
congratulations on finishing high school

good luck on becoming a doctor

and the tablet netbook sounds awesome and seems to be exactly what you need.

Must have done really well in your exams?  Don't know about the US, but over here, you need like at least 98 to have a chance of getting into med (unless you like top the umat, then 95 will do).

Well, I'm taking regular university courses to get a degree in science; then transferring into med school, but yes my exams did come out well. Of course i do not want to boast (i hate people like that) but it was around the percentages you gave.

Unfortunately, i couldn't get into my initial university because i hadn't done a secondary language and now i have to go into a "university" for first year then transfer into my selected university (UBC = University of British Columbia). I still have sciences, but it's basically at a branch university i need to attend because of my stupid mistake; oh well.

Also, it's lower here in canada than what you gave, 90% to get into sciences from what i heard.
