Right, here's the deal. I want to emulate the game Destruction Derby 2 on my laptop because every version I've made for PSP freezes/crashes just before a race starts and it'd probably be more fun to play on the laptop. [Please don't start talking about PSX > PSP converting]

I have an AMD Athlon X2 QL-65 2.1GHz and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 which should be more than enough to do it, but every time I've tried setting it up it runs painfully slow.. slow enough to make me shut it down before it passes BIOS.

Any recommendations on plug-ins and settings? I'm assuming ePSXe 1.7.0 is the best emulator available...
This is the emulator I use it cuts out all the poo poo and gets straight to the point
plug ins are done for you and you can change up how it works with your pc

Is it weird that every time I see your avy, Sensei, I fall into a trance for like 20,30 seconds...?
Well I tried setting it up with bare minimum plugins and all is well! Nevermind! :D

No. Not at all, Hellgiver.
well i tried pcsx2 the other day and i had a small amount of success emulating ps2 games (though considering my laptop is NOT designed for heavy games use it's probably a pretty good result...) you could always try pcsx and see how that works..... and if you have a sixaxis controller you can use that to play the games (though i have not yet gotten it to work with my pc yet)
I remember my old AMD Sempron can emulate PS1 flawlessly, and that's like 1.6GHz, single core or something like that.  GPU is some shitty 8yo integrated that lags on Warcraft 3 low settings.

So I don't know, you're doing something wrong.
533MHz Celeron with 32MB TNT2 graphics card has no issues with PS1 emulation, so definitely not a hardware thing.
Could just be plugin configurations, or a particularly bastard ISO/game. There are always games that require a little step away from defaults to work in emulators and suchlike.
I don't know, a dodgy BIOS or Plugin it was cause like said, it's running fine now. Good times ^^
