So yesterday I'm at my wife's work picking up her and my baby to go home and next to her is her brother who works with her who is on the phone with one of the neurologists of the practice, who is also one of the owners.  I hear him talking about ok, go to aan.com then in the top right corner of the window is where it wants you to put your ID number and password to log in.

The doctor replies 'the top right corner says 'iGoogle, search settings, login' i don't see an entry for my ID number.

So brother has him close the windows and start over thinking that the site didn't load properly.  So the doctor tries it again and same thing.

So i whisper to my bro-in-law *this is the guy who ate the 3 pound McDonalds burger by the way* 'have him tell you what screens he sees first and what he is doing, I bet he is googling the web address and stopping there'

So he does and here is the response.

"Internet Explorer opens and it brings me to yahoo.com, I enter in the yahoo search http://www.google.com then I click on http://www.google.com.

Now I am on google's web page and i enter in the search for http://www.aan.com and now I am at aan.com web page but I still don't see the login section'

Bro asks, "does it still say google on the screen?"

He replies "yes, but right in the middle of the screen it says Welcome American Academy of Neurology"

Bro replies "You have to click the welcome part so that it loads the web page you want to go to"

He replies "Ooooh, now that I clicked that I can see where to log in, thanks guys"

Cliff notes = brillian doctor who knows all there is about the neuro system opened the internet and went to yahoo so he could yahoo google so he could google the web address but didn't go to the final google result

The whole point is NOT that he doesn't know how to use Google, but he shouldn't be using Google.

He Yahoo'd "http://www.google.com", which was dumb (why not directly enter that address if you know it already?)

And then he Googled "http://www.aan.com", which again, is dumb, same reasoning as above.

very true. ive seen plenty of people do this because some how some way the url address display thing gets disabled and they don't  know how to put nor do they care. i think ive seen both my mom and dad do this, as well as my cousin :P
