No I don't like Halo. But at the same time I don't like FPS games in general anyway.
Well, even if you don't like FPS's, you could probably still get excited by Halo Wars....
Anyway, I just wanted to rant on all the cool stuff I found. Ya got to admit, that new armor does look pimp.

I second the fact that i don't like Halo. But i don't second the fact that i don't like FPS. There are FPS out there that i like, although I'm mainly RTS and RPG.
I played halo with friends before, the weapons are too imbalanced, the movement is too slow, making it have one of the worst PvP in the FPS games that I've played.
The story mode is good though, and the graphics is nice.
So my overall impression of the game is not a negative one, it's actually pretty good (assuming ur not playing PvP, which is just poo poo), BUT combine it with the fact that it's a console game. And I hate consoles. Then it becomes negative. There is a PC adaption, but the 1st Halo PC adaption eats too much system resources, and is not as good as the console counterpart, and the second one... well, I'm pissed off at all that Microsoft poo poo about how Halo2 would only run on vista and all that... so yeah.
I am a diehard Halo fan, but even I got to agree with some of your points. For instance, why the fudge won't they just let me select which game I want to join? I don't want to wait 10 minutes for their matchmaking!
On a side note, if you have Halo 1 for PC with a valid CD-key, then you can install Halo Custom Edition, which is rockin fun what with custom weapons, maps, vehicles, and characters. And Halo 2 PC is spoon.

With multiplayer its a different story. With multiplayer FPS games are quite fun, however Halo isn't the best for multiplayer. And I only play through LAN simply because online communities in games are very bad.

I'm not a huge fan of RTS games either. When it comes to strategy I like Turn based. Like with FPS games though, RTS games are pretty good in multiplayer.
I'm a person who prefers platformers, RPGs and bullet hell. I know there's that Halo platformer game but honestly, I have trouble getting into the series. Even though I'm a fan of Sci-Fi works.

Depends on what game. For some games, the online communities are alright. Most is bad. The good thing about bad online communities is that if ur heaps skilled, and u pwn them, u get even more satisfaction.
I pretty much only play multiplayer on LAN also. I had dialup until 3 weeks ago. Dailup and online gaming don't mix.
+ It's way more fun ripping ur friends (on LAN) than ripping random people u don't know (online).

Well, i like the fast moving RTS, like Starcraft, Warcraft 3. I don't like RTS that takes like 5hrs for a game.
As for turned based strategy, there isn't many PC ones. I pretty much game solely on PC. But i also play emulation quite a bit, and I played quite a lot of the GBA ones on emulator, and some SNES ones.

you know since you are a Fate/Stay Night fan you could try Battle Moon Wars. I haven't been able to get it since the doujin site I get stuff from is down =(
Starcraft and Warcraft 3 are the only RTS games I play actually >_>
I don't mind long rounds though.
