Is it possible?
i think it could be done but you have have to keep on going into boot setup tingy (f8) then if you hada option choose external usb device (not sure if it will say firewire) but try it

Yes, with minor tweaking; and one major stipulation.
Check your BIOS boot options for booting from IEEE 1394.
After that's enabled, reboot if necessary while its plugged in and check for an "IEEE 1394 whateverthebrandnameisthingamajigger".
If your mobo detects it... (which is kinda rare):
Google Shmearch:

What's up anyway?
And why is the "W" above not capitalized?
Oh, I just wanted to try Vista and my bro suggested I put it on an external drive so wee could both try it, but the only drive big enough is a firewire one.
Unless you both have identical computer setups, that probably won't work.
Yep, wee do. Wee both got identical Dell computers for christmas last year.
Still may not work, as the SID isn't just based on hardware...

Can try it if you wish.
Wait, it has a USB port. Now I just got to find the cord. But booting from USB can be done right?
Yes its is, But it depends on how old your Computer/BIOS is. You need to make sure your BIOS is set to boot Removable Drives,
Or depending on the BIOS it might say Removable Drive,External Drive and i forget the other one but you get the idea.
My comp is only 7 months old, so I'm sure it will work
