deathmock5 Wrote: [ -> ]hell, i have a test tomorrow in math, half of the questions i know the answers to, but.. these i don't...
also, don't ask how i have the questions before the test, thank you.
1. find inverse of: y=6x^2
2. solve: x^2-2x^2+x=0
3. type of polynomial, classify it and what degree is it: f(x)=11x^2+8x-3
4. divide: (x^2+3x-4) / (x-1)
5. an exponential function with a base of 4 and goes through the point (-1,1)
6. solve log_2 128
i think the answer is 7?
7. solve log_(3) 27 - log_(3) 9
i think the answer to this one is 1
8. explain how the change of base works with logarithms
9. solve (x^2 + 7x +12) / (x^2 - 9)
1. y=6x^2
(x)=6(y)^2
√
x=6y
y= (±√
x)/6
2. x^2-2x^2+x=0
(2 ± √
2^2-4*1*1)/(2(1))
x = 0,1
3. lolwut
4. (x^2+3x-4) / (x-1)
X+4
5. Can't be assed
6. 7
7. 3 - Log3(9)
8. Can't be assed
9. (x+4)/(x-3)
easy mode
also in the future this was a really helpful tool in algebra 2
http://www.mathway.com
I still think it is important to know how to do them by hand first :/
tools are helpful but I'm generally sick of idiots become handicapped by them
bloodangel619 Wrote: [ -> ]how old are you! these are totally easy! I remember solving stuff like this 7 year's ago but any way since i am totally bored and i have nothing to do i solved some of them for you although since I'm Persian i don't understand some of them and i hope you can read my hand righting, didn't have any thing near me to write with rather than an old rusty pencil I thought the best way to give them to you was to upload the scan of the paper i wrote them on here you are i hope they are right!
*hugs*
thank you ^^' i need to pass this test in order to graduate
i can understand you writing, kinda..
it seems to be maching up with my awnsers.
here i threw together a ms word so that there easyer to read for the both of us ^^'
also, +rep

Geometry kicked my butt though.
mine is the other way around, i still don't know how to FOIL correctly
deathmock5 Wrote: [ -> ]3. type of polynomial, classify it and what degree is it: f(x)=11x^2+8x-3
Degree 2 (highest exponent of x)
deathmock5 Wrote: [ -> ]5. an exponential function with a base of 4 and goes through the point (-1,1)
y = 4
x + c
let x=-1, y=1
1 = 4
-1 + c
c = 0.75
y = 4
x + 0.75
deathmock5 Wrote: [ -> ]7. solve log_(3) 27 - log_(3) 9

1, you can check with a calculator.
deathmock5 Wrote: [ -> ]8. explain how the change of base works with logarithms
log
a(x) ÷ log
a(y) = log
y(x)
^ I'm guessing that?
Unless they're asking for a proof...

Wiki tells me it's to help people remember how to multiply 2 term polynomials polynomials.
Lol. Multiplying polynomials is not that hard (read: very easy)... do you really need some special way to make kids remember it? And it's only for a special case anyway.
I'm fairly good at maths but I just find it boring.
