"If you’re using Google Chrome 4 or Firefox 3.6, you can now simply drag a file from your desktop onto a message window and Gmail will automatically attach the file."

"Curiously, Safari 4 supports the HTML5 drag-and-drop API, but for now, the feature won’t work in Gmail if you’re using Safari."

Yay! for when I'm not using Thunderbird :P
you know I'm not fond of drag and drop on browsers much.
for me: Click, highlight files, click is much simpler than
minimize, high light files, maximize browser, arrange the window so it doesn't block the drag o drop zone, drag and drop, click confirm.
=/ dunno about you but that's usually the story for me.
^ Depends on how you use things.  Problem with the Browse dialog is that you have to go browse to the active folder you want, then select your files.  If you happen to have explorer open at the active folder with the files you want, just Alt+Tab, select, drag, Alt+Tab, and drop.
