tldr; my speeding ticket got accidentally dismissed and my income tax refund is for more than double what I expected.
Well, first off, some of you might remember that I got a speeding ticket along with a ticket for driving without insurance, even though I had proof of insurance, but it was the expired card. Anyways, I had to get my new insurance card, and do an hour drive to the courthouse, to get the ticket dismissed without having to pay court fees by doing it on the day of the pre-trial.
Not only that, but I was having trouble with doing my income tax return and had mistakenly said I was not a dependent, when I thought I was. I got my refund of ~700USD, then I realized my error. I was supposed to be getting like ~300. After trying to correct it through the same online services I had used to file the original, I got nowhere. Then I tried calling the IRS on their hotline, and after 30 minutes of trying, I gave up since there weren't enough options to address my problem through their telephone menu. Finally, I gave up, and told my parents. They informed me that since I was 23, I am no longer considered a dependent anyways, and they hadn't declared me one on their taxes! :o
That means I actually get to keep the 700USD!
The next day (yesterday), I tried to pay my speeding ticket online, which was supposed to be for 180USD, and perhaps doubled since it was a construction zone. I tried paying for it online as directed, and after multiple attempts, I finally just emailed them for support. I finally got him around eleven today, and my email says that the speeding ticket has been dismissed!!! I checked the ticket number vs the one I was holding, as well as the dismissal ticket. The dismissal ticket I had was for a number different from the number I had emailed about, meaning that the insurance ticket got dismissed, and the other ticket was confirmed as dismissed. They accidentally dismissed my speeding ticket too!
Instead of getting less money and spending a lot, I am getting more money, and spending none!

HELL YEAH
