^I agree with "epic fail" anyway. Nobody is gonna go for sub-par phones like these when there are much more worthwhile devices around.

I think it could work, marketed correctly. That is, if sold at a low price, and parents usually being the ones actually paying for these things.
Although teens are increasingly becoming aware of technology and how it works etc, I still think there's heaps of people out there who ultimately don't care about downloading apps and the likes. If the device does everything they want to do, it could work to some extent.
But that's my guess and I'm not familiar with this field anyway >_>
