Thanks to Sky telling me about a Sankaku article that seems to have a valid source...

It seems a third season (K-ON!!!...?) or an extended second season of K-ON has been unveiled.. by accident because of super-advanced pre-orders. (Even on CDJapan you can pre-order all of K-ONs second season on BluRay or DVD already)

Looks like this band will be in session for much longer, as its release date states: 2011/03/16 - so begins the theories as to what it will be about because the second season already laid the foundation of it being the 4 founding members final year in the first episode of season two.

Will wee see all-new characters or will wee get "K-ON!! After Story" and see where the band goes after school?

What can I say? Even I'm surprised by this. (^_^`)

I have a theory for K-ON!!!, Azu-nyan would be alone next year, right? What if the other members fail on purpose during their graduation exams and then retake the year? So they could graduate together with Azu-nyan in K-ON!!!^^

No offense Sky - but if that happened it would be utterly retarded. Mio wouldn't do it, and Azu-nyan would probably be really cross. Their rep would go out the window and the Keion will dissolve after that year because no members would remain at all.

You're right about all that, but I think their friendship would overcome any reputation loss.... and wouldn't it be a fitting ending if the club is being dissolved because everyone graduated?^^
