Why buy FF13 over a much cheaper PSOne Classic?

because.. its a full game that I could play continuously until complete if I got it >> worth it.

Paying for a demo as mentioned also results in playing more of the game they expect you to purchase.. there will be some who realize they will have to play "all of that demo" again.. and theres also the factor that they will have to make a lot of pretty long, damn good games to make it seem like its worth it beyond an extended demo - that they expect people to PAY for.

Demo means Demonstration.. does that mean they are going to make the Demo Exhibitions at E3.. Coin-Operated?

Also, I miss the demo disk. :P

woa. I think I answered "Why buy FF13 over a much cheaper PS3 Demo". Hah.

Well the biggest plus is that a new game is just that, a new game.. so you're paying for the premium to play the complete game earlier rather than later.

And in that respect - paying for Demos will work with the portion of the market desperate to play everything first.. but a lot of people would rather save their money for Downloadable Content for games they already own.. as well as PSOne Classics.

I don't see myself paying for Demonstrations.. do you?

If you haven't got it yet... He doesn't see himself paying for FFIII either.

Depends on your interpretation of the market.  I've seen people go to great lengths to try to always be the first to get something or do something.
Usually these people will be fanatics of the game, and are usually good guinea pig subjects (actually, anyone who buys stuff early is usually a good guinea pig), so will usually give good feedback too, as well as spread their love for the game.
Besides, it's well known in the tech industry that anything new has absurd premiums attached.  In this case, you're just paying less for a lesser product.

No, I wouldn't buy the latest stuff, neither would I be the first to try out a new version of Windows/Linux/whatever.  I wouldn't be the first to buy the latest CPU or whatever.  I like to sit back and wait for all the guinea pigs to do most of the hard work.
If everyone thought logically, no-one would really want to be among the first to try out something.  The fact that so many people want the latest stuff though, indicates majority thought isn't completely "rational".

if FFIX was for sale on psn then yes i would buy it(pref a PS3 version),.. i had also buy FFXIII because its a awesome game,. but i like the the really weird bosses in FFIX. Ahaa

If they gonne start selling demo's would they still be called demo's>?>?

anyway,. i had nevar buy a demo,. O_o

I don't think its a majority. I mean there are only so many people to download demos today.. they will chop off anyone who downloads the demo based simply on the fact its "Free".

They are going to have to do the Digital Download version of, for example, Gran Turismo Prologue. And GT5 is destined to be a massive game.

Lets see of EA have enough game in the games so they can make the Demos seem worthwhile.. otherwise a lot of people are going to be feeling ripped off..

[let alone going into the PC gaming arenas DRM again (I doubt they will bring pay-demos to the PC)]

He didn't just mean those buying demos.  He means everyone wanting to be the first to get the latest stuff.  So that includes you buying FFIII in the first few days of release.
sigh... another sad day caused by EA....

They can easily make the demos free later on. (note, I haven't read the full article)
The mass majority will just have to wait, just like Intel's i7 range of CPUs.  Only the enthusiasts jump the bandwagon at the beginning, but most other people will be waiting for mainstream products.
