Here's the trick, just catch the 3g and tell it straight what you want it to do.
Ex.

dang..seems everyone has woken up and started to call gramma :(  download speeds dropped back down to 30kb/s from 250kb/s

oh well..downloads are done and my duties of pressing next slide have been taken away :D  WOOWOOO now i have nothing to do .

Well 250kb/s dl speeds are like twice my download speeds, and that's on a good day.
I need me new ISP.

Well that's good I guess So how is it in Floride? Should I really go there to die by next year or year after that?

lol, quit complaining. My home DL speed is about 1.17Mb/s, i.e. 150KB/s. :P

doh..my home is 33,000kb/s or 4.2MB/s  :-/  I'm old and don't have time to wait

I seriously doubt that, sometimes my net is worse than dial-up.
