If that's the only penalty (which is most likely not the case), then you should so do it, since the insurance costs more than the car anyway.

Meh, It's worth it if the price is for insurance coverage is....insane!

Even if you totaled your car once a year, and never saw in increase in your insurance... you'd still be getting ripped off...

well no, eventually, if not strait away, you would be put in prison, alternatively you can drive satefly and get a no claims bonus and lower your premiums
