A friend came across another mate of his who has a PSP phat, hacked and everything, but has never used it. I have it front of me and its actually in pristine condition. No scratches, no fade outs (you know... PSP logo and the bar code and all).
Currently its on 5.50 GEN-B.
The thing is that the price claimed for it is high (almost as much as for a new PSP3000). I can probably get it for a cheaper price, but not drastically cheap for such an old, second hand console.
So my question:
Is it worth it, if I get a somewhat decent price? Is the PSP Phat worth buying now?
Whoa...if the asking prince is that high for A phat PSP, I personally suggest getting a new
PSP-2000 and hacking it. Not that hard. Good Luck :)
Tell him you can get a new (both in terms of model and usage) PSP from the shop for almost as much, and try to haggle the price down.
If you can't, then you may as well buy a new one, newer model (though I don't like 3000 much), and in case there's some flaw in the old one you don't know about (plus you also get warranty).

The thing is that even PSP 2000s are highly overpriced now. I am going to a "grey" shop to purchase the phat. Else it'd be double the current price. I dunno if anyone I know (owning a PSP) is selling a Slim. This came by a rare chance. Especially when I was thinking I need a portable and was thinking of getting a DS (which will amount to more that this as it is)

That is the sad part. This guy is friends with a guy who runs such a shop. So he knows exactly what is available in the market. He's a good buddy so is actually giving half price. But yeah... trying to get a cheaper price is the current POA.
But is it worth it?
The saddest part being this: I work in a gaming company -» Many mofos who want to get hands on this.
why not get a used PSP? That's what I did because the first PSP-2000 models are not sold here. Only the later versions of
PSP-2000 and 3000. and as wee all know those models can't be fully hacked.
used ones are cheaper although best to check for defects....best of luck

I've got nothing against used PSPs. Its just that this particular once is too expensive and will tear my already thin pocket.
I can probably buy it, but not really sure if its worth the pain later on.
Did you find a fat psp yet>?
Whot do you want to pay for an almost new PSP fat>?
The guy has a psp phat. Basically, the reasons I want the psp phat are two:
1) It reminds me of my old PSP (a thread in this forum will tell you what happened to it)
2) Its fully hacked and serves my purpose entirely.
Not really sure I want to pay such a premium for a second hand device. That is what bugs me. Is the PSP3000 hacked?
I got a Phat PSP black almost new,. but i might be to lazy to find the box and all,. and also i dunno whot/or you have to pay tax when sending it to you,. England>? London>?
