Everyone who uses the internet is a pirate...

You open a page and your computer grabs images and files of the internet automatically... and are they yours? no, but if it didn't you wouldn't be able to see shit now would ya?

Pirating = Being able to see shit. Proud

Adore

By the way, if a blind person used the internet, if they pirated (which they can't), would they know they actually pirated?

There's blind people in my internet?!

also... probably not...
I highly doubt blind people even know what pirating is!

If you want to be technically correct, I believe the law has actually been amended to allow copying for the purposes of display, so downloading a webpage is making a copy, but doesn't infringe copyright.

I don't think you can justify piracy by saying you legally own a copy.  It's like trying to justify that you 'borrowed' a car cause someone 'borrowed' yours.
MysterySword Wrote:And if someone 'borrowed' a person's car, it's different than the music scenario. You'd actually own the music, and still have it. If ya don't have the original, then it's illegal.
That's the problem - you don't actually "own" the music (from how I understand it).  You have a "license" to listen to it and a few other things.  It's sort of like you borrowing the music indefinitely.  The record company is the one who "owns" the music, which is why they can retain rights over it.
You own the CD if that's what you bought.  (online purchases make this "license" even more clear with DRM)

If your CD breaks, then I would assume you lose this license.  Like how if you lose your password to your account, you've lost the account.  There may be methods to retrieve your lost password (eg ring up the login system admins) and it may be possible to make similar arrangements with music (I doubt it though) but you can't justify stealing someone else's account because of that.

Note, obviously I could be horribly wrong here.
Perhaps US's fair use laws permit this - I don't live in the US so I am unsure of their laws there.  Though if this was the case, then piracy enforcement agencies have the additional trouble of trying to verify the person illegally downloading stuff doesn't actually own a legal copy...
New rule.

If they have internet, they pirate.
