Like I said, default isn't an option because there is no character development and the game provides no default names.
Take FFI for example.
You have to choose four classes and you have to make up their names to proceed, Well by default I can assume you might mean if the game provides a name generator like some remakes of FFI then you'd stick to that right?

Yeah usually.
And since I went from Sensei Seito to Senseito I've sometime used that where all else fails.
I read quite a lot of fantasy, so i derive a lot of my names from there. While my own originality is scarce, i always pick the name first, and design my character around how i feel they look to me
I mostly play female charas and I name them something like: Yumiko, Yuuki, Chiisa and something along those.
If I play a male chara on rare occasions I usually name him Rayne
default name, or qwerty or x44, x47, x76, x23
