Have any of you used it?
I just installed it and installed an application, and I'm surprised. The synchronicity is amazing.
Of course it is not without it's niggles. I tried using VLC media player to play an MKV, and all the colours of the video were purpley-blue xD
also it only lets you use 16-bit colour, that may be why.
Have it installed, but never really needed to use it.
Everything I've used so far either works perfectly in Windows 7, or if not, works perfectly using XP compatibility settings, which is faster than XP mode.
I've only needed to use it on Vista. After going to Windows 7 I have never needed to run XP mode.

I think he means
Windows 7's special XP mode which is pretty much running XP in a VM and integrating that into Windows 7. Not windows Xp compatibility mode or whatever you've used on Vista.

i needed to flash my nokia n900 linux phone but my win 7 64bit doesn't have driver support so i used attach device and command lined it through xp

Yeah, but XP mode (I mean all the integration stuff) only works with MS Virtual PC.
Only ever use VMs to test stuff / run/install dodgy applications, or stuff that won't work natively (damn Australian eTax reporting software that is still compiled as a 16-bit binary for some odd reason).
So VirtualBox makes more sense as it can run practically any OS. Running it in seamless mode works quite well too. For Linux, you may also be able to use Cygwin/X, though I haven't tried.
