So would you talk in a co-ed toilet?
I don't talk to them while at the urinal. And I always try to make distance between me and the other guy if only for their comfort. However, if I go to a movie theater and see that there are maybe 2 people in the whole place, I love to find them and sit next to them just for fun (but I still don't talk to them).

and even then if you were in a co-ed toilet, women don't use urinals

you'd have to talk through a cubicle wall.

But of course!

I would converse about the fun times to be had from format c: and how windows update leads to brighter days, maybe about that head shot i got in my last round of call of duty.
i hate talking to people when i pee. i especially hate it when they pee next to the urinal beside mine when there are other empty urinals.
I pretend to talk another language with strangers if i feel uncomfortable. (-_-)

hmmm.....
English question! (o_o)
should I use the word talk or speak in my sentence i wrote?

Speak is what is generally used, but there's nothing really wrong with talk.

It seems the "leave a gap" strategy is common across many places - I see people often doing it in lecture theatres, buses etc.  I guess sitting next to someone when there's free spaces elsewhere infers that you have some interest with them.  Otherwise, it gives you more free space :P
