Yeah.
Tech support these days is just ridiculous.  They used to be provided as a way of making things easier for the less-knowledgeable, and instead has become a deterrent for all to buy that company's product. At least 50% of the electronic things I look up reviews for have  how back the tech support quality is (or isn't) is mentioned somewhere in the multiple reviews. It is obviously very apparent that people hate horrible tech support.

when i become president/dictator of the world
make it ileagal to have chocolatety tech suport.

and make it manditory that all "hot" women wear tiny miniskirts!
Cheaper tech support may mean cheaper products.
It would be nice to have good tech support, but personally, if you don't plan on ever using it (or rarely), it may not really be worth the premium for it.

This probably isn't the case in companies like Microsoft, whose products are priced by value, not by cost.
I really can't remember ever using tech support for anything. But yes.. tech support is meant for people who really have no inkling as to what the hell is wrong with ......!!

E.g.

"double you tee eff! Lights are out and I can't watch TV! FUCKING PC WON'T START!!! I'M BORED!!!"
