not sure if its related, but submitting avatars and using full reply is dodgy at the moment.
Avatar submission doesn't always go through and full replies hang "waiting for endlessparadigm.com" firefox status - while it gets posted and doesn't send me to the jump page...
I get that MySQL error too. Also some queries seem to be taking awfully long. My guess is that something's up with the MySQL server.
Unfortunately can't do anything for the next few days until my computer's fixed up.

As for the original issue, I found this in my email, from the host:
