InluvInluvInluvInluvInluvInluvInluv:love:WOOT

hmm, now what to do with it lol....
That's real good and all, but you should be ashamed of yourself for giving the government a FREE LOAN for $5,965.00 that they are now paying back to you with 0% interest.  :(

I prefer more money per paycheck...that's why my wife adn I are only getting back around $2000...and $1800 of that is because wee had a kid :O  and all of it is going to pay our stupid property taxes on the house :(  god damn government needs to stop taking all our money for taxes...why don't they have a bake sale or do something productive to earn this tax money
5965.... O_o

...

* feinicks cries...
$700 for me. Using it to pay tuition. Sensei♥

lol, I am not ashamed, i am happy!!

lol, I do understand your point of view.  This was our 1st year wee filed jointly because wee are married.  Wee do to have a kid, 16 month old son.  But last year wee were not married so I claimed head of household.  But I make enough to let the goverment take my money to give it back so I can look forward to a huge check like such.

The one thing that may change my mind on claiming 0 when I can claim 3 on my checks is probably when wee get a house (wee rent :( )  Wee hope to be in one next year.  Our goal at least.  Wee are going on a vacation with this.  If I had made sure I got more money per pay check wee would not be able to do this.  But I understand the whole know interest thing Facepalm but meh...  it is ok for me I suppose
I don't know how the US works, but how did you rack up such a big amount?
US tax rates are WAY better than in Australia.  Highest bracket here is like 47% if you're earning over $95k/yr from memory (might have been lowered recently).
that's a nice amount, real nice. wish i had money like that

ZOMG

I think it's 44% here, only for gifting over $27k in any one year.  Income tax is capped at 39% I think.

Wow, 45% and only after $180k.  That's _seriously_ reduced.  I recall back in 2006 it was 47% over $75k, then it got moved to $95k.
EDIT: :O http://taxreview.treasury.gov.au/content...on_4-2.gif
And then wee also have a 10% Goods and Services Tax (tax applied to all item and services, eg buying a HDD or calling over a plumber).
