Actually it reminded me of a game where you play as a Japanese(?) emoticon something that looked like (^o^) with legs and arms.

i completely lost all patience for this game, im not playing it again >:O

Yes, I finished it!!  Had like -120 lives at the end though...

I'd try and beat it but I rather use my time for that on something better
