Hey Guys, I know its been a long time since I posted, been busy with my job and exams. But now the exams are over I finally sat down and tried to set up a wireless range extender ( well when i extender, it says access point and range extender soo yeahh) but even if i follow the set up wizard it asks me to enter a ip address, a gateway and subnet mask, i thought it was the info i got when i typed in ipconfig/all cause it said "dhcp address" but it doesn't work, and now my computer won't connect to my normal wifi which is reallly annoying me.
Could you guys please help me :)
The range extender is a Edimax EW-7416APn
and my wifi router is a netgear wpn824v2 (has a WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES])
the range extender probably wants to you to give it an ip address ( i would chose xxx.xxx.xxx.2 if your router is .1) then the subnet is the same as what your ipconfig says, and the ip address of the gateway is the ip address of your router wpn824v2
Once you get that all setup, THEN it should work.
it keeps on saying windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on the network Edimax Ap
that i don't have an answer too :-/ i have never used wpa, I prefer 128bit wep...more fun to make 26 letter phrases out of the letters a-f
Fixed it, I just used the belkin wireless finder utility instead of the windows one, something to do with the authentication. But Schmilk, thanks a bunch for helping and being so speedy :). sending some Epiggys your way dude
