okay when i do get a picture on the screen from holding the power connector in tight, it'll go to the vaio screen, then just say Reboot and Select proper Boot Device, or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key?

scrap that.

I blew out some dust i think, and can now get it to boot everytime. reset the BIOS. but it still doesn't want to boot my xp disc. And the disc drive is the primary boot device
