The 3-d glasses I've used were designed so that normal glasses can fit underneath them and still be comfortable

Hmmmm...
Why should wee have to buy new televisions?
3D versions of movies could simply be sold separate, or on a bonus disc. (They already do sell 3D DVDs...)
It's not worth buying a new television for watching 3D tv shows.
Wearing 3D glasses a lot would be a turn off. I may be willing to wear them for an occasional movie, but it is certainly not something I would want to do all the time while watching tv.
So either there is something going over my head with this, or it is just a really cheesy gimmick...

(They already do sell 3D DVDs...)The Bluray format apparently was designed to handle 3D extensions - in other words, it can be designed to hold both 2D and 3D content on disc, or something like that. So it'll probably still be the same one disc, just with bonus 3D content on it (but expect it to sell at a premium regardless).
Mr. Shizzy Wrote:It's not worth buying a new television for watching 3D tv shows.I'd probably say something similar for HD TVs - the old TV works perfectly fine, why fudge out heaps for a better image?

But then, tech enthusiasts will jump aboard, and soon it will flow through to the general public over time, if the early adopters (I like to call them "sucker guinea pigs", lol) like it.

I'll hold out for the Holographic TVs, that would be at least a step forward to "real" 3-D.

Eh, see how it goes.
Quote:t's the buzz word of the year over at CES, so it's not surprising that a new AEE vendor is unveiling an adult 3-D package this year.http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/CES/hig...040&page=3
"Bad Girls in 3D" is a new company selling a 3D entertainment package -- a 60-inch 3D TV, a micro-computer, proprietary software, glasses and a monthly subscription for adult content. The price tag: $3,999.99.
"For several decades, the adult entertainment industry has driven adoption of every significant new entertainment delivery system -- the VHS home-video craze in the 1980s, the satellite television mania in the 1990s and the present day Internet," Lance Johnson of Bad Girls in 3D said in a statement. "2010 and beyond will be all about 3D. Society's enthusiasm for 3D films is largely responsible for the record $10 billion in box office revenues in 2009."
Eh, see how it goes.
