Thanks Proper! I'm a bit thorn apart atm.... on the one hand I need a new Graphics card and the 5770 looks like a great card, however I don't know if +25% performance and DX11 justify to spent 150€....
on the other hand the 5850 looks much better from this perspective but it costs 289€+ which I could hardly scratch together atm
I say probably not worth the money upgrading, unless you have loads of money to burn (but in that case, you should get the 5850).
Most of the time you won't even be able to feel the difference at all. I mean you seriously CANNOT see the difference between a game running at 60fps vs 80fps.
If you're having heat problems, get a cheap replacement cooler (or more expensive one if you wish) or downclock the card.

BETTER PERFORMANCE?
Damn you! Right as I found that same diagram I noticed you had already posted it XD
Still, I think a 5770 on a 1680x1050 monitor should do perfect. On higher resolutions, it will still be playable for all games except something like Crysis on high settings.
Scratch all that, I will get a 5850
I pretty much confirmed it runs with a 500w PSU and damn the power of the card looks amazing! I read somewhere it can handle Crysis on very high 1900x1200 with +-60FPS
Now if that isn't a future proof investment I don't know what is
The only thing, getting a 5850 in Germany is a bloody nightmare.... the only versions available for shipping are 300€+ and the versions with less extras for ~249€ have a shipping time of 1-2 months
errr. didn't you say you wanted a netbook
Sensei... in the realms of technology I'm like a woman.... my mind about what to buy changes in an instant
(Well I found out most universities would pay me a Netbook if I really need one when I start studying...
)
still, to me, that's a scary amount for an upgrade. -_-
He likes to splurge.
Whereas I'm perhaps way too conservative. (I'm mainly trying to save every bit I can cause I'm afraid of the housing market here)
