I wouldn't be bothered getting a net book, my old house mate had an eee and you can't do anything properly on them because they are just too small.
Then again that's just me.

you know, you don't need to buy off females to get them to like you...unless you like the hoe-ish kind
Anyway, a netbook should suit you fine sky; just keep in mind that they can barely do 720p (with a couple of slow downs here and there); so all your anime has to be at a small res, the screen is so small anyway.
Just make sure you get something with a big keyboard, the touchpad on any netbook blows a lot; so it'd be advised to get a small wireless mouse or something of the sort.
As for work, netbooks seem to have trouble with the graphical parts of office (well in an hackintosh anyway); right now, i'd advise you to stay on windows 7 (hell, I'm on it right now and i actually HAVE a mac; don't ask me why, i just find windows 7 a LOT more intuitive when using a mouse. Bottom line is, if your computer doesn't have a big donkey touchpad and mac os x keyboard, then mac os x sucks and since I'm advising you to get a mouse, then windows 7 is a lot more geared to this.)
A netbook should get what you need down, just don't expect it to run photoshop well or something of the sort(photoshop does run well when you are working on SMALL pictures!!), just watch videos, talk on msn and browse the internet; then it should work fine.
as for the HD capacity, 160 GB is a standard; as such even my mac has that and I'm totally fine with it. Hell, i have windows and mac os x installed and i have 40GB's left; it's all cool (that's why i have an external DURR, who stores stuff on their main HD?).
bottom line, get a netbook if you REALLY need portability; but if you find yourself setting your laptop on a desk most of the time, you should just get a 13.3 incher; it's not that much of a pain to carry around and the bigger screen is a must, if you're going to have a good time using a netbook; it needs to be a foot or two away from your face.

Netbooks aren't good for extended usage. I find the keyboard alright, even though I find normal sized keyboards a bit small, my Acer Aspire D250 keyboard can be gotten used to fairly quickly (except for the the Home/End keys - that took a little while). [only gripe is the touchpad - can't get used to them]
Specs are decent if you don't game/multimedia. If it has nVidia ION, should handle pretty much any video, including 1080p, you throw at it. If you don't have it, 720p is somewhat possible, though a little sketchy.
Anyway, again, not for long usage. Maybe to quickly check up something on the web, recording notes or whatever. The small screen does usually get annoying after a while.
But considering how many gadgets you have, perhaps consider utilising your gadgets better than buying a whole heap of new ones.
Your reasons for getting one?
- studying - you're not really sure whether you'll need it. I'd therefore get it when you actually do think you need it - there's little reason to get it in advance
- watching anime - you're using your PSP for that and seem to be mostly fine with it? - you're paying a hefty price just to replace that
