The image adds that this project represents a "rebirth" and that Geass will take a new step starting today. The message is signed with the name, "ZERO."

In the January 2009 issue of Gakken's Animedia magazine, the Sunrise anime studio indicated the possibility of more plans for its Code Geass science-fiction franchise. Sunrise created and animated the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series and its R2 sequel. Sunrise did not indicate the format that any hypothetical future plans might take. The Adult Swim television programming block ran Bandai Entertainment's adaptation of the R2 sequel in North America.

Or perhaps, Lelouch survived. It has been a rumor that the guy driving the cart at the end of the series was Lelouvh, and C.C. riding in the back says to him what was said...

Or it can be an alternate story.

I'll go with non-lelouch-linked story; Lelouch had to have died (swords to the chest do that, unless he managed to get a body double in to die for the emperor), and C2 might just be crazy like a lunatic (being immortal can do that too, apparently).

Well, after killing Charles in the Geass World (where the Sword of Akasha was placed), he gained super powers of Geass. So it may been that he himself had become immortal. Been impaled may have knocked him unconscious and he may have healed a while later (and moved away with C.C.)

Ah.. I read a little of the alternate manga in which Nunally gets a hi-light. Didn't really like it that much. So maybe, the new season is based on that.

There is no next season.
