Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I'm reading you literally just need an SD Card to use this thing right?

And what of BootMii? Does it truly make the Wii Brick-Proof like a PSP CFW would?

(That is, its restorable after a Wii System Update fudges it up should it occur?)

On that note... what of games of that need higher firmwares.. are there workarounds?

This seems like a golden opportunity that flew over my head Hihi

yeh just an SD card and bootmi is basically like the CFW menu you get at boot by holding R

just you need your sd card with bootmi installed inserted forr it to show
from here you can save you wii's nand flash to you sd card (mine was 500mb and compressed to 220mb :3  )

you can also restore nand from here
also games don't ned higher fw all that involves is the game autodetects your firmware with the one you have installed
but flashing your wii with ,atest tools also includes the firmware and region skipping

here ya go

Great stuff, just need a card now.

Does Wii have compatibility problems with SDHC cards? 16GB?
I really want to know more abou this thing. I got a Wii with Wiikey and 3.4U system menu, and I want to run newer games without worries.

You need to have 4.0 (or higher) ofw or cfw for the wii to support sdhc.

Use waninkoko's cfw updater.  He has one out that allows you to install a 4.2 cf.
Which is very current, as 4.2 is the latest official fw too    ;)

Also, I would like to add, that you need to install cIOS60 BEFORE you use the 4.2 cfw updater.   You want to do this because it will allow you to launch unsigned wads from the SD channel after you update.    Hoxever, it can only be installed safley on the lower firmwares !!

If you click on my "Mr. Shizzy"  sig, it will link you to PG, which is pretty much the EP of wii     ;)

I better check my FW...

still, if its lower than 4 it means I'll have to use a standard SD to use Bannerbomb.

So,.. shouldn't installing BootMii after BannerBomb be enough? what would be the correct order of doing things?
What firmware are you on now?

There is a very specific chronological order things must be done in, if you want your wii to be FULLY functional  under cfw  ;)

By that I mean with the wii, you must patch certain IOSs (and specific times during your hacking process) for it to be fully functional.

If you do not, than certain things will NOT work   :(        Things like launching unsigned wads from sd channel, or some games not working (like the new Need For Speed)

If you want. post your details, and I'll help you out bro    :)
Hey Shizzy I'd like some help too.

As I said earlier, my american Wii is hardmodded with Wiikey and it's fw is 3.4U. How can I get the new games working without worrying about losing my ability to play backups? I got a 2GB SD Card, by the way.
You are correct..
But I don't no why people have so much disturbed to make such poo poo kind of statements...
