Cheap Bastard (the waiter, not the family)

and for a bad waiter to have the gall to then call the police?
for shame, for shame.

I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that she should have tipped despite her displeasure; I meant that rather than making only that her way of showing her displeasure, she should have immediately asked to speak with the manager upon receiving the bill. Obviously just talking to the bartender in charge wasn't going to be enough. If something like that happened to me, I'd keep going above the current "manager" until I get to someone who actually gives a poo poo. If the "bartender in charge" doesn't care, then the shift manager might. If he doesn't, then the supervisor (if there is one) will. If not, then they aren't getting my business, or likely many of my friends' business once I tell them what happened. To just complain to the bartender and refuse to pay the tip is not enough. Go to the owner if needed. Basically, it sounded like they didn't take their complaint high enough, and just wanted to invoke a given right to ignore the mandatory gratuity that was surely mentioned on the menu. Of course there's going to be trouble if they went the route that they ended up taking, but I'm not condoning the behavior of the staff. The lack of a tip in this situation is warranted, just not to be the sole action taken.
A compulsory tip?
Those waiters must be goddamn brilliant. I expect them to suicide on discovery of minor faults, and to serve you the food, still tidy, while doing cartwheels.
When I pay, I expect hueg returns.
Did anyone else notice that that cop sounded like Ray Romano?
Mandatory gratuity isn't gratuity. Fuck that spoon
