PlayStation Notwork Director Eric Lempel has commented that SONY sometimes does not completely test their firmware updates before releasing them.   He said factors of this are time, manpower, and having to squeeze in key features for certain updates.

He went on:

Quote:Wee absolutely read all the feedback that wee see on our blog when wee do firmware updates. Wee have people who look across different forums and different sites. And wee also do our own testing – some very extensive testing..

But in some cases, wee can’t do complete testing because you never quite know how things will work until users have it.

So what's new? lol :p
It's kind of funny how people complain GEN doesn't test their firmwares completely, when SONY themselves don't even do 100% testing of their firmwares...    [Image: rolleyes1.gif]

Why would people complain about something that's free? or does team gen obligate users to complain/report bugs? :p
Eh, unless you're making really safety critical systems, no-one really bothers fully testing.

Actually, even systems like planes aren't fully tested and confirmed to be fully operational - I recall seeing a doco where they basically said the cost in fully examining a plane is so large that it's generally ignored.
Lack of interested employees? -.-

ROFL
I had updated a PSP a long time ago to 3.11 and it had caused the WiFi to stop working. It'd give me an error anytime I tried to use it or Ad Hoc. Well I call SONY and tell them this. The bitch asks "Did you put CFW on it?"...."Erm...No? I don't even know what that is." *cough* "Well, wee can't be held responsible for bad updates, you'll have to purchase a new system or send in your current on...".
