Endless Paradigm

idling at 5mph this morning when my brain decided it was a good time to take a nap :(  then BUMP, lunchbox fell to the floor and i woke up and had love tapped the car in front of me.

Guy gets out before pulling off to the side of the road to look at what happened, and i say its all good, pull off to the shoulder.  So he does and wee talk and he is driving a rental car for his work and is freaking out that he is going to get in trouble, so wee look at the bumper and see this



So he says its a rental car and he needs to report it, I say that I doubt the rental place will even see it, but he insists..

So 30 minutes later (mind you i have been driving to almost 2 hours already and only traveled 45 miles because of traffic) a hot cop pulls up and asks if our cars are drivable, and I say yes, all I did was scratch the bumper, and she says where, and I point, and she moves to look different and she says 'Oh yeah, you're fine'  Just take his information to the police station and they can file it then.

So I snapped some photos and told him that I have returned many rental cars and they never check anything unless a bumper is hanging down so I said when he returns it, if they say something then call me and wee will work it out.  Otherwise I am sorry for the delay in the day.

HOPEFULLY he doesn't file it with the police because come on..put some dirt on the bumper and it will never been seen.

Haha.... no seriously though that dude needs to take it easy.... if there was a noticable dent or if the thing was falling off then OK but that... seriously is nothing.
Cars that are actually used don't tend to stay in mint condition/.

Either that guy you bumped into is a perfectionist, or that is one strict rental company he's got there.

Yea that's hardly noticeable unless you do a thorough check of the car
Some people have panic attacks over minor things, im not sure how they cope in life

Yeah there 's no way the rental return guy isgoing to notice that..man I sure hope he takes my advise and just says nothing when he returns it :(  Sure would be stupid to turn it into insurance for 2 scratches on a bumper!!  I got more damage on my rear bumper when some jerk pushed a shopping cart into my car when i was getting groceries one day :(

Damn northerners getting all huffy over a scratch. A fender bender isn't seen as something bad down here.
