since not many people here read much, I'll have to say that alot of you should start to read. There's alot of anime adaption of manga, but not all of them are successful. and manga arn't as time consuming as anime, especially on-goings, at most you will only need 5 minutes per week for one manga. beside, alot of anime adaption suffer censorship, story changes and such.
and there's alot of masterpieces haven't got an adaption, and won't be for a while, due to various reasons.
a few highlights would be:
-Until Death Do Us Part.
This, is one mother effing awesome action manga, I've made a thread about it before. the story is simply one blind guy and one little girl, pwn EVERYONE!

- Kami Nomizo Shiru Sekai (The world god only knows)
A good romance manga with awesome art. story is about a hardcore otaku, who can master any visual novel in a few hours(those usually takes weeks to finish, Clannad took me 5 months to get Kyou, Nagisa and Tomoyo's ending) and for a certain incident, was forced to use those knowledge in real life.

-Bakuman
from the mangaka of Death Note, this one is a masterpiece. about two young boy want to be a mangaka. romantic and awesome unique plots included.

-Kitsune no Yomeiri
hmmph this one doesn't come out regularly, only 3 chap, a good ecchi/romance manga, should give it a try since there isn't many chaps.

-Lost+Brain
THIS, is the new Death Note, but instead of a book killing people, wee have hypnotism.
whatever you've felt while watching death note, you will have that feeling here. goddamn awesome.

-Ai Kora
from the author of Green Days ( if you've watched it, you know what to expect here). a really good ecchi/romance manga with decent art.

there's alot more awesome sauce :p if you are interested, imma recommend more. by the way, these are the ones with no anime adaption(or yet anyway).
I'll check them out.
GTO.  Superior anime, superior manga.  It's like the only comedy anime I've ever liked.
i almost read it as Get the fudge out lol.
Maybe if these are translated I'll check 'em out next time I go to my manga store, I don't really like reading manga online, prefer to read from a physical copy.
oh yea,... I should continue reading Until Death Do Us Part....
try Vagabond, REAL, Monster, Case Closed (Detective Conan), GTO, Bakuman.

my favs.

exactly. but sometimes the publisher doesn't finish the thing... then you get angry and have to look for some sort of help on the matter.

and sometimes the manga has more complete story line.
just started reading Dollgun, with the amount of ecchi and boobs, with a fair story and supposed-to-be good action, i reckon this one will get a anime real fast.
