DAMN THIS STUPID MOTHERBOARD!! Its appears to be so primitive that to make it boot from a ext. HDD (to install 7 that way), I need to completely change the Hdd priority settings. Plus, I need to completely change the Boot priority settings from within the BIOS as there is no option to quick select Boot device...

Err.... don't you have to do that with all normal motherboards?
I've personally never seen a motherboard which asks you which device you want to boot from when you start up the computer (and I wouldn't want that either, takes more effort).

My motherboard got a quick select key while booting to pop-up a menu from wich you can choose the device you want to boot from,. :) no need to go into the bios,.

Yeah, what's the HDD priority settings? I would guess it's the boot priorities, but you mentioned that separately...

HDD priority refers to which Hdd will be read first. For example (dunno about SATA) in IDE, one is a Master and the other is a slave (decided by the jumper in the device, yes). By default, Master device is given a priority. This is supposed to direct the machine as to which device to refer to for first. For instance if you have 2 hdds, which hdd to read first to boot the OS. In modern world, this is becoming irrelevant, however.
Now in my case, I had 3 hdds listed there. However, the Boot priority manager listed: CD ROM (which I don't have), Floppy drive (which made it older than universe) and the hard disk which had First priority.

Eh, you just have to change it once, not a big deal.
Surprised an ASUS board doesn't have it though.

Me too. What is annoying is the fact that it is not loading from the port. Hdd. It could be due to an error in extracting the iso or some other setting, but I am not too sure about that.
