They're not officially supported. Do note however just because they're not officially supported doesn't mean they'll definitely not work. I've heard of Linux working on it before.

VirtualPC has issues with Linux last time I heard. Apparently doesn't emulate something which causes all the Linux installers to fail.
How's performance? Heard it wasn't that great.
I'll stick to VirtualBox :P

Serves my purpose good enough (mainly testing shifty programs/installers/files), I don't really feel like installing 2 programs which do similar stuff (I need this for XP mode).
At least it correctly detects my CPU now on Windows 7. Back then on XP when I used it, it thinks I have a P4, and ends up only using 1/4 of my cores.

That would most likely be a BIOS issue. Windows doesn't really have any issues with CPU detection (unless you tried to stuff it up).

Didn't change the bios in between. It's not Windows, that can detect it fine (my main XP install detects it perfectly). I think it's just VirtualPC being crappy. Windows 7 uses a different version (of VirtualPC).

Does VPC actually install any guest additions to the OS yet?

Guest additions? You mean like integration between the host and the guest?
Well, VirtualPC does have some integration features. Lets you move your mouse in and out of the VM freely and also drag and drop stuff in and out. Don't know how it compares with VirtualBox though, since I never used the later.
