I've basically looked everywhere that I could think of. I need the drivers for the InfraRed receiver for an HP dv6607rs. I've checked HP's site and of course they don't have them. I'm hoping someone can help.
I've never needed drivers for mine; it's always worked out of the box, no matter what OS I use.
My laptop came with Vista Home Premium and every time I reinstalled an OS, it never worked again. I've even changed the battery in the remote and tested my PSP with it.
Weird. Mine's worked with Vista, XP, 7, and *NIX without any intervention from me; and I've got an HP dv2710us.
Really now? The thing I'm trying to get working is the Media Center remote and it won't work on Linux or Windows.
Can you reinstall the original Vista, ie through a recovery disc? If so, you could then export the driver.
Or you could try searching through the recovery disc for it if you have one.

you mean something like this?
Mine's always worked, lol.
That's it exactly.
@ Zinga: I haven't managed to get my hands on a recovery disc yet. That was my first idea but I didn't necessarily want to waste the money on it since I only need one thing from it.
They should really give you a recovery disc when you buy the thing... At least, a method to create one.
Eh, complain to their support.
I call shenanigans....It came with a recovery partition but I couldn't be arsed to keep it.
