yes yes, on a more serious note, my internet access has effectively been crippled.

Plenty of stuck on "Looking up..." and timeouts on IE8, Google Nubsplorer and Firefox Icanthaveenoughofyourram 3.

I've tried resetting my router to factory (cause of my port forwards) and resetting my network adaptors... this is happening just as bad on my LAN as it is on my WLAN.

Testing via Speedtest when it actually loads... I get 0.25 on the down (max is 10.0, usually 8/9.~) and 0.01 on the up. Yes. double you tee eff.

I'm going to use SpyBot when i get back, but I've never encountered such a crippling degree of internet suffocation before.

Any thoughts?
you could be being throttled due to torrent activity
My internet is worse.  No competition.

majide?

I don't even use torrents that often anymore, I use DDLs... last thing I torrented was under 5MB..

[I keep forgetting the Family accounts uTorrent though...]

If it is throttling, permanent?
nah, only be until the end of the month, or until your next bill depending
i doubt it, but there's always a first time for everything

i know that my ISP throttles all BT traffic until reallllllly late at night
Just HTTP activity?  I know my ISP used to send all HTTP traffic (anything on TCP port 80) through a proxy.
Can always slam your ISP...
does  your isp cut you down to a low level of service after you dl a certain amount?
that happened to me and i was stuck with dial up speed for like 2 weeks...
