You can spoof it.  IDK about changing it.
I guess even that would be possible if you had the knowledge to completely reverse engineer the firmware.   But hey- you know more about that stuff than I do ZiNgA.   :p

EDIT:  I know DAX said that SONY had encrypted a threatening message to him one time in one of the firmwares.   :0

For the common PSP forum member, it is no big deal to reveal your MAC address. (Unless you have a homebrew dev pissed off at you.  I remember one time all the QJ devs got pissed and blocked someone from using any of their releases - lol.  One plugin raphael released, would even check for his MAC address, and make his PSP reboot over and over.    LOL)

Anyway, as much money as these guys are causing the industry with allowing the SONY's new wave of encrypted games to be played/pirated.   They could do things.  Imagine if SONY blocked his mac addy from PSN on him.   Or even worse set up some mac address check in the firmware, and have it cause a unique problem for them while programming a new cfw.  Hell it could hamper progress for considerable time, before they figured out the dirty trick...  

Or even worse then that, they could implement a firmware check that would upload his IP Addy to SONY whenever he connected online.  Then send him a cease and desist order, or try to sue him...

Maybe I'm just being overly paranoid...  (I usually am  :p)

Maybe it's a spoofed mac. or better yet, maybe it's the mac address of somebody whom MagiXcian knew of and is pissed off with, so that Sony would see it and blocked it. What a way to get back. lol

GEN doesn't really work properly for me.

610CFW is the way to go but it looks like GEN don't know how to do that. If they did know then why mess with a broken CFW? Just make a 610CFW and EVERYTHING will work.

If you really knew how to make a CFW then you would've released 610GEN but as its not released you don't have a clue how to make a CFW either so you can also STFU.

I'm sick and tired of updating a old CFW every week. I'm gonna stick with GEN-B2 as it works and GEN-C, D, D2 do nothing extra. All they bring are problems.

As Team GEN are the only ones making CFW these days I have no choice but use that CFW until DA comes back and makes a good CFW which GEN can't.
