Xitherun Wrote:@Zinga: I understand chords just fine, (this is in the key of A Minor), but I don't really get the chord progression thing.

And the 'chord progression' I used in the main melody was I VI(an octave down) III V (an octave down). So it's technically in a minor key, but 3/4 of the chords are major.
Intro is in a minor key, I'd say the second part is major (you don't have mostly major chords in a minor key, lol).  In a major key, VI and III are typically "minor" chords (VI is relative minor, III is the minor dominant) so I don't think they're the correct chords there as I only hear one minor chord (you may have used inversions).
Progression is just the ordering.  There's some more common cadences, like V » I ("perfect cadence" - usually ends a song/section), V » VI ("interrupted cadence") etc.

Good you know anyways - good work :P
Seriously, why do you know all this? Hihi

You need to quit knowing everything, srsly.

I also need to work on my music theory.

Had to practice it to death for AMEB Grade 5 music theory exam.
Have forgotten most of it now though.

Just checked - first part in A minor, I » Vb7 » VI
Adding the V on the end sounds something like (yes recording sucks):

Second part in C major, VI » IV » I » V (no inversions).

Actually, just adding random notes here and there is enough to make it more interesting :P  You can use your repeated notes quite well actually.
that makes it sounds like it's finished; not really going to repeat or anything.

I dunno, lol. I just need to work on my music theory.
Up to you.  V » I is typically used to end something.  I didn't want to change what you're doing much, but I'd recommend changing things a bit more.
But if repetition is really what you want, what I've said means nothing.
if I was a better composer, it'd be less repetitive; but this was really just for a school project, and it meets all the requirements, so lol.
Yeah, it's a great effort - cool!
