If PS3 supports AC3/DTS, I guess you could muxing the audio stream into it, though IDK if MP4Box supports it.
If it's an AVI, get VirtualDub Mod, load in the AVI, go Streams » Streams List, select the audio and Demux it somewhere. Then get YAMB, go create MP4, and load your already converted MP4 from Xvid4psp, untick any audio streams in there, then load the audio stream you demuxed from the AVI, and see if you can make write out an MP4 like that.

a52 is an AC3 decoder. And don't use VLC for this kind of info. That's what MediaInfo is designed for.

I think it's supported

So just encode your video, demux your audio, and mux it together into MP4.
Going to sleep early today

Do you know what "mux" means?
It takes at most 2 minutes for you to mux or demux something. MUCH faster than re-encoding the audio.

Its not hard, click the "Format" drop down in XviD4PSP and click "MP4" or "PS3 MP4"
and it should do the trick.
If you want to mux the audio seperately, demux the video MP4 and audio MP4 and mux them together into a new MP4 and it should work just fine.
I don't understand all this, lol...IDK why you have to go through all this encoding/converting of these videos. Are you just trying to set all your movies with same audio coding? Every movie I obtain in avi format 99% of the time simply works fine on my PS3. All I do is download, & move to my PS3 HDD & all works just fine. I have maybe 100+ movies on my PS3. Are you just trying to get better quality movies to play there, like blueray rips or something? I think one out of every 30 won't play on my PS3, it'll show up until I try to play it & then says data not supported or something like that...Then I just use total video converter to convert it.
