Got it working now to learn to play. . .

its pretty simple to play. don't bother with the tut, just play a deathmatch

AoE is much more simple to play than stuff like W3.
That said, I've never played AoE 2, so I need to go get a copy. When I get it, I shall play.

If you have RTS experience, in AoE2 Death Match, your aim is to pretty much:
1. sPa/\/\ units (do some upgrades too)
2. Advance in ages to get better units to sPa/\/\

Well, that's what I took - note that I'm a noob.  It's much easier than a standard game where you have to manage resources and stuff (you probably would have to do the same for longer Death Match games though).

O_o?  A moderate computer uses up like all their initial resources in like half an hour.

Anyone play Rise of Nations? That's a great one as well. (Though there was one time I moved in to watch a nuke hit my enemies capital and it fudgeing BSODed me.... the explosion sample was repeating on my speakers... LOL)
