I tried Gen before, but switched back to M33-6 for the plugins.
Updated but the system information is still at 5.50 GEN-B, not B2. Weird.

yeah its safe

Punk777E Wrote:I don't know the last time I tried upgrading to 5.50 GEN my PSP bricked, was just trying to see what is up with it.
did you disable your plugins before installing it?
there is no way of bricking your psp except you're a dumb by removing the battery or install it when the baterry is lower than 10%. also it could be semi-brick (because of plugins).

Must of been plugins forgot to disable plugins which I usually don't do so, yeah.
cool updating now...

although I wish they would add the 150 kernel addon Emptyone

EDIT: it seems the problem they fixed was for fat psp's,
some homebrew would not start even though it works fine on slim's
you would get a "error loading xxxx.prx" even though the prx was there

I can now run Xplora Adore (which I couldn't before)
but I still can't get Autostart v4 to work :(
it says "the game could not be started (80020148)"
DCEmu is reporting this fixes compatibility issues with Hell Cat Recovery Flasher, and several other homebrews.    Madwin

Well, if it's only for Phat PSPs, I see no reason to update seeing as I'm a rare Slim owner. (While I may not enjoy the perks of Phats, such as 1.50 kernal, ability to make a Pandora's Battery, etc. I do take comfort in the fact that my PSP won't break if I drop it, those things are fragile, 2 of my roommates had Phats, both their screens cracked eventually)

I'm still on 5.00 M33 Hihi

Hopefully wee'll see 6.00 M33 when its released.

there are other perks to owning a SLIM too.  Like the extra RAM.  The new DS emulator that Yoshihiro is developing, is ONLY for slim.  Same with IR Shell's multi tasking function   ;)

I doubt wee'll see an M33 update anytime soon if ever:

Mathieulh Wrote:I am no longer in M33 (I am retired from the psp scene remember?) So I'm unable to give any kind of official statement at all regarding this (it mostly depends on Alex) but I believe the chances of it are quite slim. There are the GEN firmwares that seem to work properly if there is any requirement for an update in the near future. Of course nobody prevents you or anyone from coming with their own custom firmware solution (as long as it is not ripped off an existing one that is).
