While the title may seem a little far fetched, it’s currently the sentiment of a very large portion of the PlayStation community, who are now in an uproar due to changes in the XMB which were before undocumented by reports.
So much so, in fact, that already the official PlayStation blog has received well over 1000 comments, most of which coming from dissatisfied users, just a small portion of the common dislikes for the new firmware are as follows.
* XMB Font and icons have been increased in size considerably.
* Friends list now has a seemingly logic-defying grey box for their background (which is currently not customizable, even with dynamic themes).
* Game list now only shows the name of the selected game.
* PlayStation store being in almost every single submenu – absolute overkill.
* Inability to disable the ticker which is currently really, really repetitive.
* Inability to disable infobar.
* An option to Enable/Disable ‘What's new’ that doesn’t seem to actually do anything.
* No option to disable XMB blur
* No option to revert to classic startup
And now for the list of featured people actually do like.
* Dynamic themes, even though there's only currently two (one of which is free).
* The new startup (debatable, a lot don’t)
Really, for such a major update it must be quite a blow to Sony to have it’s userbase so deeply unsatisfied by the changes.
