My ISP, (Shaw.ca), is cool.
They tell "The Man" to shove it.
I got cut off once for too much traffic.
Wee had a good yak about file sharing, they only care about fair use of bandwidth for its customers. When the RIAA or any of those contact them they recite thier privacy policy, unlike Telus, (the other provider), who is in co-operation with law enforcement.
I was given a slap on the wrist and this link:

Either way, anything personal I do online is with my 'Nix box by slow but encrypted means.
If I'm really feeling paranoid I'll find an open Wifi router, brute force the admin login if I have to, set a massive WPA pass phrase or set of dynamic WEP keys, h4x the p14n37, reset the router, and leave. Pretty flawless unless you're being physically tracked.
Ummm...nevermind...*dissapears into shadow*
Shaw hasn't always been like that, before their internet became independent from @Home they were very much like Telus is now. Right now they use traffic shaping on known Bittorrent traffic, and using settings to avoid that can cause even more slowdown depending on how the other clients are setup. I've never had issues with using up more bandwidth than I am supposed to though. My friends have even though I use more than them, so I guess the rest of my neighbourhood doesn't use that much. Overall Shaw is getting better for the customer, but that is only because Rogers and eventually Bell will be trying to move into more of western Canada.

Wow, I was going to really respond to all this political ranting, but I'd be afraid my IQ would plummet into oblivion. So I'll just say this:
The US doesn't have more than 20 more years under the current government. People don't vote because the majority of them understand that the politicians are all the same no matter what political party they belong to.
Get your head out of your donkey and wake up. The Roman empire was in the exact same state that our government is in now right before they crumbled.

Dude. That's like the definition OF SOCIETY. Wee give up certain rights for the protection
of other, safety, etc. I just finished 9 hours of hell at my job, so I don't feel like
being preachy and mean. Go read Locke, he'll explain it to you, he doesn't do too bad for
an old guy. And the majority of the US Const. was based on his principles. Anyway, to
sum it up, anarchy for the lose.
