meh.... Western society feels that chai only means Masala tea. Actual chai is made by boiling tea leaves in water with or without milk and spices. After it boils, mix hot milk (1/4th cup milk + 3/4 cup tea) {if not added to the boiling solvent} and chai is ready!
Obviously, you also have to add a sweetener.

You don't have to add a sweetner. I sometimes have it without milk aswell.
