It's a shame to see members go
I would say it's a bit sleepy here atm but hey that doesn't means it will never wake up again...
I personally never really had a reason to be here, back in the glory PSP days I mostly got my news from QJ and -hacks but ever since I got my broadband internet I had some kind of "Home-forum"
It was psp-hacks at first but it went to hell long time ago imho and EP was just the forum I needed, great community and alot of fun.
Even in these days the first thing I do when I fire up Firefox in the morning is to look what happened here while I was sleeping, it's just my "internet home"^^
And about the "Sony has won" thing, well it may appear so atm but everything made by a human can be controlled by humans.
Nothing wee have ever created was without flaws. I have read about people who disassembled their PS3, looking at the chips, analyzing system calls and whatnot. The hole in the PS3 that lets us control the system might be very small but I'm sure someone will find it someday, same thing with the PSP 3000 and PSP GO!.
Just recently I read about a XBOX 360 hack that might allow access to the CPU key which would apparently allow to region change a 360, downgrades and possibly even a custom OS like on the XBOX 1! If this is true it sure took alot of time but then in the end the 360 has fallen and I belive the same thing will eventually happen to the PSPs/PS3s
If something like a government system can be hacked (like heard in the news while back, that Korea or whoever accessed some American government systems...) there's no way a handheld gaming device is unhackable.
I also heard that DarkAleX doesn't make any M33s anymore because he hates what the PSP has become in terms of game releases. It's true that piracy hurt the PSP much but that's atleast partially the developers fault imho.
I can only speak for the german market but games seem way overpriced here. With 59€ for a average PC/PS3/360 game and 29€ to 39€ for a PSP/DS game many people just don't want to afford games and just go down the piracy route.
If games would become cheaper I'm very sure more people would buy them. The Steam weekend deals with sales rising up to 3000% (yes three-thousand) and my own experiences proof that. I remember when one of the Splinter Cell PC games came out I saw it brand new in the shops for just 25€ and thought myself "Wow I could just download it but for that price I will actually buy it" So I belive if every game would be sold at the minimum profit price sales would rise a good amount.
Well seems like I got a bit off-topic here....^^'
Anyways like I said before it's sad to see a good member go..... couldn't you just stay here for the fun of it?^^
If not, good bye you were a nice member!
