I was just browsing through the text data in sysconf_plugin.rco for 5.00 firmware and noticed this:
That would be cool if game companies started giving out themes to promote their release right on the UMD
What an awesome idea I thought.
Then i thought: too bad .ptf themes suck...
But then again - if the icons are any good, wee could always rip them and make them into a cool .CTF theme.
Has anyone ever seen a UMD that has an importable theme on it?
I haven't.
have't noticed this text before,. O_O,. maybe its added with firmware 500 and there will be ptf theme's on a new demo disc for the PSP-go>? ;p like the screenshot rco wich is't used yet too,..
interesting... but 5.55 ofw is killing us atm

Hmmm. I doubt it's going to be for PSP Go!, as it has no disc drive.
Must be they plan on including .ptf on UMD for 1000/2000/3000 eventually ?
Probably another feature that will never see the light of day...
wow that's cool imagine what kind of stuff will happen now ...o.0
probably another feature that will never happen, seeing that UMD's will eventually be a thing of the past I don't see this happening.
That is interesting though
I remember seeing that text on 5.50, but didn't think twice about it
I wonder if that means that when you go to select a theme under settings, the firmware actually checks to see if the UMD has a ptf stored somewhere...
proof again that hacked psp's > sony
never know though..... maybe they'll get the ctf theme maker's to make awesome theme's for them for them...... but the chances of it getting anywhere aren't great because most people who own a psp have it hacked and any of those people with sense would get the iso from somewhere and download the theme from the net..... sony more or less killed the umd when they made blu ray anyway......
I swear that's been in there since at least 4.00.
new psp games are going to be flash based, so this is rather irrelevant... but still, cool find!
